Whistler Activities
What to do
Where else can you ski, snowboard, skateboard, mountain bike, canoe, kayak, climb, white water raft, Zipline, swim, hike, heli-drop and ride the World's longest gondola, all in the same day? Nowhere else, only Whistler…
OK, so you’d need to start early but you get the idea. There’s so much outdoor activity in Whistler that you could spend an entire season here and never cover the same ground twice. But if that’s not enough...
The village of Whistler is a shopper's paradise with more than 200 shops and stores within an eight-minute stroll of the chalet. And if you have too many bags for the walk back, you can always grab a cab.
Whistler village boasts some of the best restaurants in the world, ranging from fine-dining to family bistros, European, Asian, fast food and even the graduate of 2010’s Hell’s Kitchen USA. If they can survive Gordon Ramsey’s management style, then you’re sure of a top quality dining experience.
A big part of the Whistler experience is après at one of the many pubs, bars and clubs. There are also plenty of special events and unique festivals throughout the year.

Night Time Activities
The fun doesn’t stop once the sun goes down. In fact, for many, this is when it begins. Just like during the day, there is something for everyone in night-time Whistler, from families to party animals.
Restaurants
Whistler has a staggering array of restaurants, ranging from fine-dining to fast food and everything in between. You can enjoy some of the best food in North America, including the star of the latest series of Hell’s Kitchen USA, the Araxi restaurant. Series winner David Levey will be resident chef until at least February 2011 but make sure you book early.
If that’s a little too high-brow for your tastes, then almost every form of cuisine is available in almost any style; Asian, European, South American, southern USA; you name it, you can have it.
Pubs and bars
Just like the restaurants, there is a huge variety of styles when it comes to choosing your favourite watering-hole to exaggerate your day’s accomplishments. Numerous pubs and bars cater for those looking for a quiet, intimate evening or those who want to ‘sing’ their hearts out or watch the latest sports action on TV.
Nightclubs
If you're looking for a longer night and a later finish, then there are several late night bars and a couple of nightclubs that will fit the bill. In fact, enough so you probably won’t need to spend your nights in the same place twice.
Cinema
For a more relaxed evening, a trip to the cinema to see the latest blockbusters is a good way to unwind. The Village8 cinema in Whistler village has – you guessed it – eight screens, so everyone can find something to watch.
Entertainments
Whistler hosts a variety of events and festivals throughout the year, including the Telus World Ski and Snowboard festival in April, Children’s Art Festival in July, the world-famous Crankworx mountain bike festival in August with competitions, demos, music and entertainment, the Cornucopia food and wine celebration in November and in January 2011, the Winterpride week, Canada’s biggest gay ski week, with parties, dinners and special events.
